| Assistant or Associate Professor of Naval Architecture

Job Description:
Teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate level
Actively pursue research opportunities
Participate in departmental activities and committees
Professional service, including attendance at national and regional conferences and professional society meetings
Seek publication in refereed journals
University service, including participation on committees, student advising, and special projects
Hold office hours for assisting students
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
ABD required, Ph.D. preferred (Ph.D. required for Associate level)
Active research program required (a strong publication record required for Associate level)
Ability to conduct research in and teach courses in naval architecture with an emphasis on structural analysis and design OR hydrodynamic analysis and design
Strong pedagogical and communications skills
Desirable Qualifications:
Industrial or design experience in the marine industry (highly desirable)
Registration as a Professional Engineer
Hold or have held USCG license as a marine engineering officer (highly desirable)
